About the Founder

Kara has always loved birds and spending time in nature.  But over the years, she began noticing that the natural spaces she remembered from childhood were disappearing along with the wildlife that called them home too.

After spending years working in tech and in front of a computer screen, she realized she wanted to spend more time making a positive impact on the world just outside her door.

In 2017, she began experimenting with native plants in her own garden. Over time, she watched neglected areas come back to life as birds, pollinators, and other wildlife returned.

By 2020, she began helping others create gardens that are beautiful, functional, and supportive of wildlife.

With more than seven years of hands-on residential gardening experience and a Certificate of Merit in Landscape Design from Longwood Gardens, Kara combines practical experience with thoughtful design. She enjoys helping others create native gardens that thrive while teaching sustainable practices that benefit both people and the planet.

Her hope is that every garden, no matter the size, can become part of a healthier, more connected ecosystem.
